February Student Recital at LMC

BENTON TOWNSHIP, MI - The Lake Michigan College Music Department will present its first student recital for the winter semester at 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, in the Dance/Drama Room F117 of the Lake Michigan College Mendel Center.

Student vocalists performing on the program include Chelsie Haney, soprano (Bridgman), Beakjin Kang, baritone (Korea), Abby Pike, mezzo-soprano (Gobles) and Kendall Walker, tenor (Baroda). Instrumentalists performing include Brian Kill, guitar (Three Oaks) and saxophonists Nicholas Pisarsky (St. Joseph) and Elise VonKoenig (Stevensville).

The LMC Chamber Winds Ensemble, directed by Christina Gibson, will perform “Houat” by Pascal Renou. Student members of the Chamber Winds are Megan Barrett, harp (Berrien Springs); Wesley Cummings, percussion (Berrien Springs); Brian Kill; Ashley McClure, string bass/violin (South Haven); Sandra Pries, flute/piccolo (Stevensville) and Elliott Skjordal, tenor saxophone/electric bass (Benton Harbor).

Faculty presenting students include Brad Krueger, David Martin, Paul Mow, Denisse Santos and Carrie VanDenburgh. The accompanist for the program is Paul Flyger.

The program is free and open to the public. The Lake Michigan College Mendel Center is located on the Napier Avenue campus.
