The program offers three types of Honors level coursework and interaction:Honors Section CourseOpen only to members of the Honors Program, special Honors sections of traditional LMC courses are offered each Fall and Spring semester and include courses such as Biological Science, National Government and English Composition.Honors Independent StudyAs an Honors Program student, you can work directly with instructors to develop independent study courses personalized to your interests. This flexibility allows you to explore areas of study not available in regularly offered Honors Sections. Honors ColloquiumIn the Honors Colloquium, you will be involved in active, in-depth study of a prominent social issue. Together with other Honors Program students, you will engage in high level independent and group research based on the fundamentals you learn in your other Honors courses. Past topics have included poverty and cultural differences.
The two year sequence of courses is a suggested order of studies.Students need not take Honors courses in a particular sequence unless prerequisites are required.
