March Workshops at LMC Bertrand Crossing Campus

NILES, MI – Lake Michigan College’s Bertrand Crossing Campus is offering several workshops in March, including free classes on native landscaping, local geology, and Adobe Photoshop Elements.

Gardening with Native Plants
Using Michigan’s native plants as part of a home landscape is both ecologically sound and beautiful. This class will introduce students to native plant gardening, with the foundation that we are all caretakers of Mother Earth.

Local Geology
This class will describe the geological processes that formed the features of Southwest Michigan and provide maps and descriptions of self-guided field trips to sites where the described features can be observed. The topics will include river valleys, flood plains, dunes, artesian wells, shoreline processes, OUR continental divide, lake-border moraines, bluff erosion, gravel pits, climax forest, ground water, fossils, and bogs.  Get ideas for school/homeschool projects or for an unusual date with that special someone.

Photoshop Basics
Mark Kelly, a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, will introduce students to the basic functions of Photoshop Elements including eliminating red eye, cropping, rotating, and resizing. Photoshop Elements is one of the premier photo editing programs available today. Class is limited to 8 students.
