Four associate-to-bachelor degree programs to be featured
BENTON TOWNSHIP, MI – Lake Michigan College and Western Michigan University – Southwest will host a free open house on Tuesday, February 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. to highlight four, locally available associate-to-bachelor degree programs offered in partnership between the two colleges. The open house will be at the WMU-Southwest building located on LMC’s Napier Avenue campus at 2785 E. Napier Avenue, Benton Harbor.
During the open house, both colleges will have representatives available who can discuss how local residents can start at LMC to earn an associate’s degree, transfer to WMU-Southwest to finish their bachelor’s degree, and go on to a career in nursing, elementary education, business administration, and engineering.
“With this partnership, students have the ability to earn the first two years of their bachelor’s degree at Lake Michigan College and then seamlessly transfer to Western Michigan University – Southwest to finish their bachelor’s degree. It’s a great way for students to save money, save time, receive a high quality education close to home, and earn the credentials needed to begin a rewarding career,” stated Luann Harden, director of the WMU-Southwest campus.
Open house attendees can enter one of two drawings for a $500 scholarship to be used toward tuition at LMC, or tuition remission toward a 3-credit class at WMU-Southwest or online. Both drawings will be good toward the 2013-2014 academic year. Full drawing details will be available at the open house.
