Free Workshops Being Held in Niles, Benton Township and South Haven

BENTON TOWNSHIP, MI – Financial aid for college reaches well beyond scholarships and Pell Grants. Lake Michigan College is hosting a series of free workshops, 11 Things Every Student Should Know about Financial Aid, to help students and families who are preparing for college become knowledgeable on the subject.
The events will be held:
• Monday, January 9, 7 p.m., at the Bertrand Crossing Campus in Niles
• Tuesday, January 10, 7 p.m., at the Napier Avenue Campus, Blue Lecture Hall
• Thursday, January 12, 7 p.m., at the South Haven Campus
Among the topics the College’s financial aid team will present will be why it is important to start the financial aid process now in anticipation of enrolling in fall classes, scholarships, grants, loans, work study opportunities and tax credits. Information will also be available on completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and making financial aid paperwork simple.
