Lake Michigan College to Host Boys Summer Basketball Camp

June 16, 2014

Registration available for boys entering 4th-9th grades in Fall 2014

BENTON TOWNSHIP, MI – Budding basketball stars can hone their hoop shooting skills and more this summer at Lake Michigan College’s Red Hawks Basketball Camp.

The day camp will be held July 14 through 17. Boys entering grades 4 through 9 in the fall are eligible. Participants will develop basic skills in a fun environment and will learn the importance of teamwork, leadership skills, and education.

“Camp is fun and the kids always learn a lot,” said Doug Schaffer, Lake Michigan College’s head men’s basketball coach. “But the great thing is seeing them gain confidence as leaders and becoming better role models off the court as well.”

The camp is led by Doug Schaffer. He will be joined by assistant Red Hawks coaches, Jeremy Schaeffer, Gregg Schaffer, and Jerry Schaffer – a Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan Hall of Fame member.

The Lake Michigan College Red Hawk’s Boys’ Basketball Camp will be held July 14 through 17, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the St. Joseph High School Field House on Stadium Drive. The Field House opens at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $175.00 per child. No previous experience is necessary.

Information and registration is available on the Lake Michigan College website at www.lakemichigancollege.edu/mens-basketball or by contacting Doug Schaffer at (269) 927-8170 or dschaffer@lakemichigancollege.edu.
