March Community Education Courses Offered at LMC’s South Haven Campus

SOUTH HAVEN, MI – Lake Michigan College’s South Haven Campus is offering several Community Education classes that begin in March, including courses on Ukrainian eggs and local food.

Make Your Own Ukrainian Egg (Pysanky)
Making these beautiful Ukrainian eggs is a wonderful activity for all ages beginning at around 9 years old. Instructor Charlene Randall has 20 years of experience as a Pysanky artist, but art and craft skills are not required to learn how to make a colorful work of egg art. Class size is limited so register early. The course fee includes materials. (Students under 16 may take the class with a parent or responsible adult.)

Purchasing local foods: How to work with your local farmer
Students will learn how to purchase strategically to get locally grown foods for business, institution, or personal needs. Instructor will discuss the meaning of local foods, farm to institution, fresh, and affordable as they relate to individuals and their health as well as to the community food system.
