LMC Dedicates Space to Veterans

July 14, 2014

BENTON TOWNSHIP, MI - Lake Michigan College has created Liberty Hall, a resource and study room for the exclusive use of students currently serving in the armed forces and student veterans of the armed forces. Veteran enrollment at the College has grown steadily over the past 5 years, including a 24 percent increase last year to a record 135 veterans.

“Liberty Hall underscores LMC’s commitment to veterans that they will be afforded the highest-quality support for their unique needs as they pursue their educational goals,” stated Vice President of Student Services, Dr. Clinton Gabbard. “Our veterans are very involved in on-campus life, and we are responding to the need they have voiced for a space of their own.”

The room on the Napier Avenue Campus is supplied with computers, a printer, TV, couch, microwave, and refrigerator. Veterans, reservists, and National Guard can get a code for entry into Liberty Hall from LMC’s Veterans’ Affairs office.

Contact the Veterans’ Affairs at (269) 927-6181 for more information about Liberty Hall and other services for veterans LMC offers.
