Energy Production Technology
About the Program
The Energy Production Technology program at Lake Michigan College leads to an Associate in Industrial Technology degree.
Degree concentrations are available in:
- Mechanical maintenance
- Health Physics-Radiation Protection
- Power Plant Operation
The program requires students to meet rigorous performance standards in the areas of math and science. Coursework includes electronics, math, thermo-fluid sciences, physics, Maintenance, and general education courses. Courses specific to the nuclear industry are also included, with many taught by energy industry experts currently working in the field.
Depending upon the specific classes completed, students will be prepared to work locally and throughout the country as entry-level technicians in areas such as:

- Electrical Maintenance
- Health Physics
- Instrumentation and Control Maintenance
