Policy Statement:
In accordance with the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA), beginning August 5, 1993, eligible employees of Lake Michigan College will be granted up to twelve (12) weeks of unpaid leave during any 12-month period, with health care coverage provided, if requested by the employee for one or more of these reasons:

-The birth of the employee's son or daughter or to care for such a son or daughter;

-A child's placement with the employee for adoption or foster care;

-To care for a spouse, son or daughter, or parent (but not parent-in-law) who has a serious health condition; or

-The employee's own serious health condition.
