Strategic Issue
Mission and Integrity
How can Lake Michigan College ensure that it is mission-focused,
appreciates the value of self-governance, and promotes core values
of excellence, diversity and integrity?
Strategies:
-
Create and put into place systems that assign accountability
for the development and measurement of goals and objectives
that advance the vision and issues of the College's Strategic
Plan each year.
-
Establish systems and processes that involve all College
departments in supporting student development, success and
student outcomes.
-
Develop processes that assure realistic workloads and efficient
use of human, fiscal and physical resources to ensure institutional
integrity and excellence.
-
Function as a unified, multi-site college system with reasonable
access to resources, events, information and instruction.
-
Develop and implement a broad-based, multi-directional communication
plan that gives a voice to all constituents and minimizes
the risk inherent in innovation and change.
-
Create an atmosphere where diversity and inclusion are second
nature.
-
Infuse every level of the College with a culture that promotes,
protects and upholds the ethics and integrity of the institution,
its student body and constituent community.
-
Develop and produce an annual report card that evaluates
progress in the adoption and acceptance of diversity.
-
Actively recruit a diverse student body, faculty and staff
to enrich the Lake Michigan College experience.
-
Ensure a collaborative structure where decision-making is
at all levels.
-
Evaluate and modify, as necessary, the faculty and staff
performance appraisal program to ensure consistency and measurability
with both assigned responsibilities and the College's Strategic
Plan.
-
Create programs that foster an environment that encourages,
implements, recognizes, and rewards efforts that advance the
College.
-
Assure a safe teaching, learning and work environment for
our College, students and employees.
