How can Lake Michigan College create and support a culture of inquiry, creativity, excellence, personal responsibility, outstanding customer services, and innovation that leads to programs and services that are continually assessed for quality and relevance?

Strategies:

Using a comprehensive and integrated fact-based system, the College will:

  • Continuously capture, evaluate and implement ideas for innovative programs and services that meet the needs of the College's students and stakeholders.

  • Create a culture that values active engagement by encouraging and rewarding college employees that participate in lifelong learning activities and events.

  • Continuously upgrade leading edge academic and technological infrastructure, and implement professional development programs to foster innovative teaching and learning methodologies.

  • Through systems design, identify and remove organizational restraints and enhance the deployment of innovation.

  • Create an environment in which students and stakeholders consistently rate customer service as excellent.

  • Conduct a regular evaluation of technical, customer service and management skills necessary for employees to achieve documented standards of excellence; match employee skill sets with standards and develop and offer professional development programs as appropriate.
