How can Lake Michigan College ensure that it effectively
supports the cultural, economic, training, and educational needs
of the region it serves in ways that add value to the region and
the College?
-
Partner with business, industry, organizations, and area
interest groups to anticipate and assess current and emerging
educational, services, entrepreneurial and training needs;
reviewing existing College programs and services relative
to those needs and trends, making modifications and creating
new offerings within the scope of the College mission to address
emerging issues.
-
Support program and service decision-making through ongoing
participation in research activities that monitor, assess,
and provide reporting on nationwide and local economic, cultural,
training and educational trends.
-
Strengthen existing and create new partnerships with K-12
systems, higher education and other private and public organizations
to support the development of programs and services that advance
a K-18 view of education for students in the region.
Assess and implement programmatic, partnership
and financial strategies to diversify Mendel Center revenue
sources, and add entertainment and quality of life and value
to the region.
Using research and data, develop and begin implementation
of a long-range plan to position the College's conferencing
and event function and facilities as the premiere meeting, training
and event site, and as a contributor to the economy of the region
and to the budget of the College.
Support the advancement of the region served by
the College, by developing programs to encourage and recognize
faculty, staff, alumni and student participation in community-based
initiatives and activities.
-
Create an interdependent community of learners
who embrace individual responsibility and are actively engaged
in growing our communities.
