Day 1: Your adventure begins with an overnight
flight.
Day 2: Your tour begins in Stresa, Italy
on the shore of the Lago Maggiore. You will be transported by
boat to dinner on Isola Bella, the largest of the Borromean
Islands.
Day 3: Driving through stunning landscapes,
you will cross the border to Switzerland to explore the lovely
lakeside resort of Lugano. Excellent shopping opportunities
available.
Day
4: The destination today is the exciting modern city of
Milan. Visit the Duomo Cathedral, the Vittorio Emmanuele II
Gallery, and the La Scala Opera House. The highlight will be
touring Santa Maria delle Grazie, where Leonardo Da Vinci's
"Last Supper" is on display.
Day 5: Travel to the lofty medieval city
of Bergamo. Step back in time as you are escorted through the
historic "upper town" surrounded by 16th century Venetian
walls. See the 14th century citadel, town square and Santa Maria
Maggiore Basilica with exquisite collections of frescoes and
tapestries.
Day 6: Spend the day enjoying the sights
of Cremona, a town steeped in musical history. See the Cathedral
of Santa Maria Assunta, Palazzo Communale and learn how a local
violin maker expertly crafts instruments.
Day
7: From Cremona travel to the Ligurian Coast. Board a train
in La Spezia for a journey through the five villages of Cinque
Terre. This area is an Italian treasure with terraced vineyards
and fishing villages overlooking the azure beauty off the Mediterranean.
Day 8: The day begins with a visit to "Lago
Scuro," a local farm that produces organic cheese. Next
stop is the historic city of Parma where you will go on a walking
tour featuring the magnificent Romanesque Cathedral and the
fascinating Palazzo della Pilotta. On the way back to Cremona
there will be a stop at Busseto.
Day 9: Your tour comes to an end in Cremona
