Dentophobia is the fear of dentists. This is a real and common
phobia found in many patients and is an issue dentists face.
As a dentist, it will be your responsibility to be conscious
of this fear and respond to each patient on an individual and
unique basis. You will have to be calming and confident in your
abilities and the abilities of your staff.
Along with the high degree of manual precision, dentists also
have to have a business background. If your goal is to be a
solo practitioner, you must have good business sense, communication
skills, and self-motivation.
