In a profession where self-motivation
is the key determinate in success, it is important to realize
that most of your future work will be on an individual basis.
You must have knowledge of raw materials, production processes,
quality control and costs. Most importantly, you must be able
to work with clients. |
Picture a car corporation that has had to shut down production
because their entire assembly line had an electrical systems failure.
Every hour that passes, the company is losing money and possibly
clients. As an electrical technician it is your job to get the
assembly line up and running, avoiding the company major financial
loss. In a time of pressure, it is your responsibility to weigh
the costs and issues of the problem, and then address as you see
fit.
Other skills needed include:
- Willingness to accept changes in order to be up to date in
the field.
- Being practical, accurate, and methodical.
- Having good hand-eye coordination and eyesight while working
on small components.
