Tool Technology
Machine Tool Operator - Works with both hand tools and
computer-numeric controlled (CNC) machine; examines and interprets
blueprints, job orders, or computer aided design (CAD) drawings
to determine the specific operations required; sets up machining
tool and prepares the pieces for machining.
Tool & Die Maker - Produces tools, dies, and special
guiding and holding devices that enable machines to manufacture
a variety of products.
Machinist - Uses machine tools such as lathes drill presses,
and milling machines to produce precision metal parts.
CNC Programmer - Programs numerically controlled machine,
tools and machines shapes. Prepares and debugs tool path, tool
application, selection of speeds and feed, and auxiliary machine
functions.
Mold Maker - Highly skilled machinists who specialize
in building tools that shape plastic materials or soft metals
while in fluid state.
CNC Operator - Sets up and operates computer numerical
control machines to cut, shape, or form metal work pieces to specifications.
Machine Builder - Fits and assembles components to assembly
blueprints spec, manual, engineering memos, or sketches; constructs,
rebuilds and repairs machines and equipment.
