Mathematics
Interest rates on car loans. Gallop polls. Calculating your
pay check. Blueprints for the backyard shed. Grades received
on geometry tests. While each of these things appear to be unrelated,
they all have one thing in common. Numbers.
Much of our lives are measured, planned, and organized by numbers
and mathematics.
Mathematics is one of the oldest forms of scientific inquiry,
and with the growing demand on science, mathematical study and
statistical skills will always be in demand.
Technology advances are breaking down the barriers of what
is and is not a "math field." Math provides a foundation
for much of modern society.
