and Degree Options - Medical Office Systems
Lake Michigan College offers certificate
and associate
degree programs for Medical Office Systems students. The certificate
program is good for gaining entry into the field of being a medical
office assistant. The degree program provides more in-depth training
and positions graduates to not only enter the field but be better
prepared for promotion opportunities when they arise.
Many students who earned a certificate in Medical Office Systems
at LMC return to complete their associate degree.
Certificate Program
Upon completion of LMC's 30-credit Medical Office Systems program,
you will be awarded a Certificate in Applied Business/Medical
Office Assistant. This program can be completed in one year on
a full-time basis or over a longer period of time, based on the
pace you choose as a part-time student. You may apply these credits
to LMC's associate degree program.
Associate Degree Program
When you graduate from LMC's Medical Office Systems degree program,
you will earn an Associate of Applied Business degree. You can
complete the 61-credit program in two years by taking a full-time
credit load over four semesters. As a part-time student, you can
complete the program at a pace that works best with your schedule.
Transferring to Other Schools
After completing the LMC Medical Office Systems program, you can
continue your education by earning a bachelor degree. Siena Heights
University on LMC Napier Avenue Campus offers a Bachelor of Arts
in Business Administration degree. Siena will accept up to 90
credits from LMC to apply toward the degree. For more information,
