General Information
Business & Industry Training designs customized
training programs tailored specifically to meet the training needs
of employers. Businesses determine the type of training they need,
the schedule that fits their operation, and the duration of the
training. Business & Industry Training delivers in company
facilities and/or on campus. We choose instructors based on their
expertise and your needs.
In the past, Business & Industry Training has
provided customized training to upgrade the skills of current
employees and train or retrain new employees. Customized training
programs help you increase productivity and profitability.
What's in it for you?
- Contract training agreements allow for maximum enrollments
at reasonable prices.
- Some training costs may be subsidized by federal, state, or
local government training programs.
- You can save time and money. Customized training conducted
at your site relieves you from paying for travel and per diem.
Employees are away from their jobs less time. This enables you
to train more people for less money.
Here's how we work with you...
- The Business & Industry Training staff at Lake Michigan
College will work with you to get an idea of what training
you want. If desired, we will conduct and develop a training
plan that meets your unique needs.
- Once a training plan is identified, college staff will
recommend instructors for your approval. We'll then schedule
a planning session between you and the instructor at your
convenience. You tell the instructor the outcome you want
to achieve and identify the audience. The instructor will
help you plan the training details.
- After the course planning session, we'll present written
objectives and an outline for your approval.
- We mutually agree on dates, times, and locations convenient
to you and your employees.
- All fees are assessed and contracts written before and
training begins. College staff will help you secure any
training subsidies that may be available for your program.
- College staff will check with you while the course is
in progress to see if it is meeting your needs. Upon completion
of the training, the instructor conducts an evaluation to
insure a satisfactory training experience. Each participant
will receive CEU's, Continuing Education Unit's, for every
hour of the course taken.
