The study of theatre at Lake Michigan College is designed to provide training in both performance and technical theatre. The student can concentrate on one or both. The preparation should ready the student for employment, transfer to a four-year college or other programs such as an internship.
Theatre courses help students develop their appreciation of the discipline as well as to expand their personal and professional enrichment through study in acting and in stagecraft. The curriculum comprises of courses dealing with dramatic theory and appreciation, design and technical theatre and performance. Courses are open to all students. Credits apply toward the Associates in Arts degree. If you are planning to transfer to a four-year school, you should obtain degree requirements for the freshman and sophomore years at your selected school and consult with the Theatre advisor to plan your individualized program. |
