High-wage.  High-skill.  High-demand.  Unbeatable combination.

Businesses are on the lookout for people who have the know-how to run high-tech equipment in today's manufacturing environment. In fact, there are more than 800 businesses in southwest Michigan and northwest Indiana alone that need people like you.

At Lake Michigan College, you'll learn the latest in industry trends and get hands-on, real world experience - the type of knowledge it takes to be in demand.

Engineering and Industrial programs available at Lake Michigan College include:

Apprentice Training
In cooperation with local employers, Lake Michigan College provides apprentice training, which includes classroom instruction and on-the-job training. Upon completion of the program, the apprentice achieves the status of journeyperson. Students also earn college credit that can be applied to a Certificate or Associate Degree in Skilled Trades Technology.

Drafting & Design

Electronics/Electronic Technology
Electronics technicians with an associate degree are in demand by local and national employers who manufacture, sell, repair, or use electronic components and equipment. Graduates have a wide variety of jobs to consider with typical career opportunities such as electronics technicians, electrical technicians, and robotics technicians.

Upon completion of the four-year degree, typical careers available include engineering positions in aeronautics, agriculture, industry, manufacturing and nuclear technology, to name just a few.

General Technologies
The General Technologies program provides a broad knowledge of technological areas applicable to the industrial setting. Through careful selection of electives, students can prepare themselves with the knowledge and skills applicable to a specific industrial setting.

Industrial Maintenance Technology
Graduates of the Industrial Maintenance Technology program find job opportunities both locally and nationally working in the design, sale, installation, maintenance, and repair of machines and machine components. Careers include maintenance mechanic, machine repairer, and maintenance electrician.

Machine Tool Technology
The Machine Tool Technology program is designed to train students in basic and advanced machine skills through classroom and laboratory experience with traditional metal cutting and computer numerically controlled machines. Careers available both locally and nationally include tool and die maker, machinist, CNC programmer, mold maker, CNC operator, and machine builder.

Plastics Technology
