About the Program of Study
The Plastics Technology program prepares you with skills in processing a variety of plastics materials to meet needs of employers in Southwestern Michigan and Northern Indiana. In addition to skills in plastics processing, other knowledge employers are looking for in employees includes 1) general understanding of the business environment; 2) reading and interpreting tooling and machine prints; 3) testing and measuring physical properties of plastics; 4) using statistical process control; 5) contributing to meeting standards of ISO and QS 9000; 6) working effectively in teams; 7) speaking and writing clearly.

Most courses required for this program are offered at the Bertrand Crossing campus. It may be necessary for you to complete some courses at the Napier Avenue campus.

Degree and Certificate Options
Upon completion of the 36-credit program, you will earn a Certificate of Achievement.

Upon completion of the 67-credit program, you will be awarded an Associate in Industrial Technology degree.

Degree and Certificate Requirements

This program articulates with the Occupational Education Studies program at Western Michigan University to prepare certified vocational teachers for high schools, technical centers and community colleges.
