About the Program
Lake Michigan College offers the first year of a three-year Associate
in Applied Science Degree in Dental Hygiene in cooperation with Kalamazoo
Valley Community College (KVCC).
The program is fully accredited by the American Dental Association.
It will train you to provide specialized intraoral technical service
and prevention-oriented educational services.
You may apply for admission at Lake Michigan College and KVCC simultaneously.

Associate's Degree & Certification
Graduates receive an Associate in Applied Science degree from KVCC and
are eligible to write the National Board Examination and Regional Board
Examination for licensure. Upon successful completion of these exams,
a graduate is registered and qualified to practice as a dental hygienist
in Michigan and many other states, plus the District of Columbia.
