Out of these principles Lake Michigan College's Institute for Diversity and Leadership was created.

The Institute promotes organizational effectiveness through audits and training in managing and leveraging diversity. It provides companies with the tools they need to create and sustain a successful corporate culture. Additionally, the Institute serves internal College diversity initiatives to assist in creating an inclusive and innovative workforce that has the skills to exceed in meeting the challenges of a diverse market place.

We are committed and passionate about providing programs and services that are the seque to an inclusive and diverse society. We look forward to serving you!

The Association of Community Colleges Trustees (ACCT) awarded Lake Michigan College as the Central Region 2003 Charles Kennedy Equity Award. This award recognizes two-year, post-secondary institutions for outstanding leadership in setting policies and in assuring results for the enhancement and expansion of opportunities for minorities and women.
