Eligibility for Financial Aid
Who is eligible to receive Financial Aid?
To receive aid from any of the federal and state student aid programs at LMC, students must meet all of the following criteria:

Have financial need, except for some scholarship and loan programs. Financial need is determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Have a high school/adult high school diploma, GED Certificate, or achieve qualifying scores on LMC’s approved tests to meet Ability to Benefit standards

Be accepted for enrollment in an eligible program at LMC

Be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen

Have a valid Social Security Number

Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress standards set by LMC (as mandated by federal law)

Certify that he/she is not in default on a federal student loan and does not owe money on a federal student grant

Register (or be registered) with the Selective Service, if required
-
Meet federal eligibility requirements regarding drug-related convictions
How to Apply for Financial Aid
1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You can complete the application online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. You must apply each year to be eligible for financial aid. LMC’s federal school code is 002277.
2. Complete the LMC admission process.
3. When applying for LMC scholarships, you must complete the LMC Scholarship Application available online, or call the Financial Aid Office at (269) 927-8112 to request a paper application.
4. Questions about financial aid can be directed to the Financial Aid Office at (269) 927-8112 or by visiting the Students Services area on the Napier Avenue Campus. You can also call the Bertrand Crossing Campus at (269) 695-1391 or the South Haven Campus at (269) 637-7500.
Deadlines for Financial Aid
Students may apply for financial aid at any time of the year, however, to ensure priority consideration for all financial aid programs offered at LMC, the following priority deadlines have been set for the 2009-10 academic year:
Summer/Fall Semesters: March 1, 2009
Winter Semester: October 1, 2009
Spring Semester: April 1, 2009
