Honors Program Benefits Print E-mail
If you are like many of the other Honors Program students, you plan to transfer to a four-year college or university after LMC. By participating in LMC’s Honors Program, you can strengthen your academic portfolio and show admissions representatives from other schools your level of commitment to your education in ways that others can’t.

As an Honors Program student at Lake Michigan College, you will also be able to focus on the area of study that most interests you. Your advisor will work closely with you to make sure the classes you are taking will have the highest level of transferability possible.

Recently, Lake Michigan College signed an articulation agreement with the Lee Honors College at Western Michigan University whereby LMC Honors students transferring to WMU will be accepted into their prestigious honors program.

Leadership Development and Social Activities
In addition to attending class with other Honors Program students, you will have the chance to build a social network of friends through several outside events each year, such as
  • attending museum exhibits and plays
  • seminars, workshops and a special Honor Program lecture series
  • public service and volunteer activities
