Did you know that during your junior and senior years of high school, you can:
The purpose of the Early College program is to increase the number of students who go on to college after high school by providing a college experience to which enriches their high school curriculum. The program connects career pathways and Tech Prep activities that assist students in the transition from secondary to post-secondary education. How? By taking direct credit and dual enrollment classes through Lake Michigan College. By taking LMC classes offered at your high school or at one of our campuses, you can make your junior and senior years more meaningful and get a jump start on college. The credits you earn in high school may also help you lighten your course load when you are in college full time, making your transition from high school to college go more smoothly. Check with your guidance office or career and technical education director for more details. Taking college courses while still in high school is also a great way to get first-hand experience as to what college work will be like. But, what’s really great is that Early College direct credit and dual enrollment classes may count toward your high school graduation requirements while giving you a jump start on college. The key is to work closely with your high school counselor to make sure you choose the right classes.
