Breaking Through
Programs
The following programs (designated with an *) are Breaking Through
Programs. Lake Michigan College is part of a consortium of colleges helping
adults enter and succeed in college and careers.
In these programs, coursework will include Keytrain,
WorkKeys assessments toward the National Career Readiness Certificate and a
module on College and Career Essentials. Breaking Through is a project of Jobs
for the Future and the National Council for Workforce Education.

Continuing Education Units
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are awarded for enrollment in many non-degree programs. The CEU is a nationally recognized standard unit of measure for substantive, non-degree learning experience which meet certain professional criteria. One CEU is equal to 10 instructional hours. Online Learning with Ed2Go
Our instructor-facilitated non-credit online courses are informative, fun, convenient and highly interactive. You can gain skills in a wide range of topics including grant writing, graphic and web page design, accounting and personal finance by working entirely from your home or office, any time of the day or night.
All courses run six weeks with a two-week grace period at the end. Access to the Internet, e-mail and either Netscape or Internet Explorer Web browsers is required. Community and Business Services has the space for your next company conference or retreat at the Lake Michigan College M-TECSM facility. You may rent classrooms or lab space for training for your business. Audio/visual equipment and hospitality are also available.
