Search tips when using Quick Search or Advanced Search.

If you have read through the tutorial about Boolean Searching, note that searching CQ also allows for Boolean searches:

AND
children and divorce [this search will look for both words in the document]
children divorce [will automatically "and" the words together even though "and" was not typed in]
OR
Clinton or Bush [this search will look for reports that have either names mentioned]
NOT
Clinton not Bush [search looks for reports with Clinton mentioned but not Bush]

Other Search Commands:

PHRASE - to find words in exact sequence
"global warming" [using quotation marks, this search looks for reports with global warming side-by-side]
TRUNCATION
work* [the * after work looks for work, working, workable in the reports]
FINDING WORDS WITHIN X NUMBER OF WORDS OF EACH OTHER
electoral w/10 college [using w and then a /, will find the words electoral and college within 10 words of each other]
