What is Netlibrary and how do I access it?
The NetLibrary collection consists of over 24,000
electronic books. These are copyrighted, published titles - made
available in electronic format. These books are available to Lake
Michigan College students, staff, and faculty. Siena Heights students
taking classes at the LMC campus are also eligible. The titles
are full text, fully searchable, and are accessible 24 hours a
day and 365 days a year from any Web browser.
An account with NetLibrary is required if you wish
to access NetLibrary from off campus.
Does it matter where I create
my account? Can I use it off campus?
Yes, it does. You must create your account on an
Internet computer while on one of the college's campuses.
Once your account is created, you may access the collection from
anywhere, anytime!
How do I create an account?
1. Go to the library's web page: http://www.lakemichigancollege.edu/lib/
2. Click on the "Library Catalogs/Books" link on the
left side of the screen.
3. Scroll down until you see:
4. NetLibrary - Create an account.
6. Fill out the form and click "create an account.
7. You may be asked to create a different username if your username
is already in use.
8. Use this account name and password every time you log into
netLibrary.
Searching for an eBook.
After creating your account you can search NetLibrary
to find an eBook.
Using the keyword field in the Basic Search allows
you to search for a word or phrase in the title, author, subject
heading, publisher, and ISBN fields. To perform a keyword search,
enter the search term. NOTE: To perform a phrase search, submit
your search in double quotation marks - for example, "small
business." Other search fields are also available in Basic
Search. An Advanced Search can also be selected for more complicated
searches.
View an eBook.
After you have conducted a search and have results,
you can view the contents of a title. To view an eBook, select
View this eBook.
