LMC to Hold Community Information Meeting in
South Haven
BENTON TOWNSHIP, MI - Lake Michigan College will
host a special information meeting for individuals interested
in learning more about program and class offerings at the College's
new South Haven campus this fall. The session will be held,
Wednesday, May 14, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Holiday
Inn Express on Phoenix Road at I-196, exit 20. The event is
free of charge and open to the public.
Janice Varney, executive dean of the South Haven
campus, will provide a brief overview of the campus and the
programs that will be offered. The LMC advising and admissions
staff will assist individuals with the steps needed to become
a student and will provide information on services available
such as career counseling and financial aid.
"There has been tremendous community interest
regarding the campus," states Varney. "Even though
the building is under construction, we want people to know that
they can make plans now for classes that begin in August. We
especially want to get the word out to adults who might be thinking
about upgrading their current job skills or about pursing education
that will lead to a new career."
Those with questions about the event can contact
Barbara Craig at 1-800-252-1562, ext. 5171 or Janice Varney
at 1-800-252-1562 ext. 8170.
The South Haven Campus is scheduled to open in
time for fall classes that begin August 25. For more information
