South Haven Couple Makes Book Donation to LMC
BENTON TOWNSHIP, MI - South Haven residents Claude
and Nancy Phillips recently donated a collection of books and
periodicals to the Lake Michigan College William Hessel Library.
The nearly 600 titles cover a variety of topics within the areas
of social science, political science, and psychology.
"We appreciate Mr. & Mrs. Phillips' generosity in making
this donation," states Diane Baker, interim director of
the William Hessel Library. "It is nice to know that there
are individuals in the community that care so much about the
educational futures of LMC students."
Claude Phillips, a retired college professor, and Nancy Phillips,
a retired university librarian, are owners of The Hidden Room
Book Shoppe in South Haven.
The William Hessel Library is located on LMC's Napier Avenue
Campus in Benton Township. Students at the college's South Haven
Campus and Bertrand Crossing Campus in Niles can utilize library
services in person or through a system where they can request
materials that will be sent directly to their campus.
They can also utilize nearly 60 databases to indexed and/or
full -text magazines, search over 19,000 electronic books in
the netLibrary database, and access the library's new online
catalog, Impact, which allows them to renew their checked out
materials online.
