Computer Training Workshops at LMC's South
Haven Campus
BENTON TOWNSHIP, MI - This fall at Lake Michigan
College's South Haven campus located at 125 Veterans Boulevard,
LMC's Community and Business Services division is offering computer
training classes in several popular software packages.
The eight-hour classes cost $135; the 16-hour class costs $265.
Training manuals, technical support, and hospitality are included
with each class. Space is limited so participants are encouraged

Computing Fundamentals (8 hours)
September 29 & 30, 5:30 - 9:30 p.m.
Participants will identify hardware components, explore software,
and discuss issues to consider when purchasing a computer system.
They will get started with Microsoft Windows, work with the
desktop, My Computer, Windows Explorer, and will perform hard
disk maintenance.
Digital Media Petting Zoo (8 hours)
October 7 & 9, 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Participants will learn to take digital photographs, scan images,
electronically send images to family and friends, and use images
in documents. Skills covered will include how to take pictures,
cropping, resizing, adjusting color, converting to black and
white, and discovering the best file format for sending and
saving images. Participants should be computer literate, able
to use a keyboard and mouse, and have Windows experience.
Living Online/Internet Fundamentals (8 hours)
October 13 & 14, 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Participants will be introduced to the basic concepts of the
Internet, examine the Internet and its uses, and examine networks
to understand how the Internet works. They will also explore
requirements and options for connecting to the Internet, become
acquainted with the World Wide Web, and use search engines.
Design Your Own Web Page (16 hours)
Tuesdays & Thursday, November 11 - 20, 5:30 p.m. - 9:30
p.m.
Participants will learn to create, modify, and format websites;
manage websites with tasks; work with text; create hyperlinks;
insert images; design tables; and publish and maintain websites.
Web hosting will be explained and explored. This course uses
Microsoft FrontPage to design websites.
