Lake Michigan College Seeking Nominations for
Athletic Hall of Fame Awards

BENTON TOWNSHIP, MI -- Lake Michigan College is currently seeking nominations for inductees into its Athletic Hall of Fame. The awards will be presented between games of the LMC basketball double-header against Grand Rapids Community College on February 20. The deadline for nominations is December 1.

The purpose of the Athletic Hall of Fame is to publicly recognize and honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the Lake Michigan College intercollegiate athletic program as an athlete, coach or friend. Athletes are eligible to be nominated five years after they have completed their participation. Those who are nominated must have completed a minimum of one season on a Lake Michigan College-sponsored intercollegiate athletic team as an athlete.

Coaches are eligible for selection after three years of involvement. They must have completed a minimum of three seasons as coach of a Lake Michigan College-sponsored athletic team. Friends who are nominated must have been associated with and/or supported the Lake Michigan College athletic program.

In determining a nominee's eligibility, the selection committee will consider the following factors: role model; athletic honors; citizenship/services performed; academic success; extraordinary support/donor; accomplishments/honors (athletic and life).
