Coloma Student Awarded Full Scholarship by
Lake Michigan College

BENTON TOWNSHIP, MI - Lake Michigan College has announced that
Kelly Kniebes of Coloma is the first recipient of the Tony and
Rose Monte - Monte Package Company Agricultural Scholarship.
Kniebes, a 2005 graduate of Coloma High School,
will receive full tuition for two years at Lake Michigan College
and full tuition at Michigan State University for two years
as she pursues a degree in business and landscape design.
Kniebes states about her education and career
plans, "Working at Grapevine Nursery, attending agriculture
classes at Countryside Charter School, and working on a farm
has helped me realize that a career in agriculture is what I
would like to pursue for my life's work. With this scholarship
I am now able to attend college to do this with little cost
to my family and me."
While at Coloma High School, Kniebes was a member
of the National Honor Society, editor of the school newspaper,
student council president, and section leader for Varsity Singers.
She earned a 3.859 grade point average. She has begun full-time
classes this fall at the College's Napier Avenue Campus in Benton
Township.
Established by Sam and Connie Monte and Monte
Package Company of Riverside, Michigan, through the Lake Michigan
College Foundation, The Tony and Rose Monte-Monte Package Company
Agricultural Scholarship allows "Monte Scholars" to
begin their education at Lake Michigan College and continue
their pursuit of their bachelor's degree in an agricultural-related
major of their choosing at Michigan State University.
