Lake Michigan College to Induct Psychology
Students into
Psi Beta Honor Society

BENTON TOWNSHIP, MI - The Lake Michigan College
chapter of Psi Beta has invited six psychology students to join
its membership. They will be inducted into the local chapter
at the college's annual Honors Convocation on Monday, April
17. New members are:
Allegan - Sarah Brokus
Baroda - Courtenay Lavigne
Buchanan - Jillian Fennessy
Sawyer - Afton Cole
St. Joseph - Lisa Marie Daniel , Julie Gerner
Psi Beta is a national honor society for students
in psychology at two-year colleges. To be eligible, students
must complete at least 12 credit hours of course work at Lake
Michigan College including at least one psychology course, have
earned at least a 3.0 GPA in psychology, and have at least a
3.0 GPA overall .
Members have an opportunity to present research
papers at state and regional meetings, and compete for national
awards. The Lake Michigan College chapter of Psi Beta sponsors
the publication of The Lake Michigan College Journal of Psychology,
a journal of student research.
According to Judith Buchalski, LMC psychology
professor and faculty sponsor for the group, Lake Michigan College
has the only active chapter of Psi Beta in the state of Michigan.
