LMC Board Appoints Barbara Hall to Open Board
Position
BENTON
TOWNSHIP, MI - During its June meeting, the Lake Michigan College
Board of Trustees appointed Barbara A. Hall to fill the vacant
board position left by Edward Woods III.
"Barbara's leadership abilities and her commitment
to the betterment of this region will make her an excellent
addition to the Lake Michigan College Board," stated LMC
Board Chairman Steven Silcox. "We are pleased that she
has accepted this appointment and look forward to working with
her as we continue to move Lake Michigan College forward."
Hall is currently the executive director of Whirlpool
Foundation in charge of the daily operations and providing leadership
and direction to the Foundation's board of trustees.
Hall joined Whirlpool Foundation in January 1995
as a program coordinator and has successfully advanced in her
responsibilities from program manager to executive director
in 1998.
Prior to joining Whirlpool Foundation, Hall worked
as an operations department manager for Ryall Electric Supply
in Denver, CO, at All-Phase Electric Supply Company in Benton
Harbor as an accounts receivable manager, and in Denver, CO,
for All-Phase's minority subsidiary, Premier Electric Supply
as a branch manager.
Hall is a longtime resident of the Benton Harbor
community. She attended Benton Harbor Schools and graduated
from Benton Harbor High School in 1969. She attended Lake Michigan
College and Eastern Michigan University majoring in Business
Administration.
Hall is a member of the St. Joseph/Benton Harbor
Rotary, board member of the United Way of Southwest Michigan,
Inc. and former board chairperson, and a member of the Abundant
Life Church of God in Christ.
The Board seat Hall is fulfilling is set to expire
December 31, 2006. It will be on the ballot during the upcoming
November election.
