The Pig Flies Again!
BENTON
TOWNSHIP, MI - The Pink Floyd Experience
ONE EPIC CONCERT,
with 270,000 watts of light, 20 tons of full quadraphonic sound
and six amazing musicians, is coming to Lake Michigan College
Mendel Center Mainstage Theater, Friday, February 2, at 8 p.m.
Pink Floyd is rarely discussed without using words
like "psychedelic," "conceptual" and "provocative."
Their shows were described as being theatrical with mind-blowing
lights and unsurpassed sound. Their music reached record-breaking
status for decades on charts worldwide. Without question, Pink
Floyd remains one of the most influential rock bands of all
time.
The Pink Floyd Experience echoes everything that
made Pink Floyd one of rock & roll's greatest icons. The
Pink Floyd Experience is much more than just a flawless recreation
of the legendary songs that spanned decades in their appeal.
It's a celebration of the music, the themes and the innovation
that this great band brought to fans around the world. It is
Pink Floyd, up close and personal, without losing the scope
and power of their performance.
In this two-hour show, with over $2.5 million
worth of lighting equipment on stage, the Pink Floyd Experience
features a massive light show and moving truss that brings the
show right to the audience. Even the icons that Pink Floyd has
made their own - from the blinking eye to the marching hammers
- have all been translated into clever hooks along the ride.
Imagine a 45-foot wall crumbling to the stage to reveal six
musicians. Or have your hair literally swept up by the helicopter
that introduces their next song. Hear the cash registers in
"Money" or the clocks in "Time" run around
the room in full quadraphonic sound. The show finishes with
a 12-foot long pig blimp that flies over the audience and balconies
in final homage to Pink Floyd's most familiar image.
The North American Premiere Tour of the Pink Floyd
Experience in 2004 sold more than 40,000 tickets and earned
nearly $1.5 million in gross box office receipts, including
sold-out shows in Toronto and Vancouver.
