Presidential Candidates

Dr. Janet Gullickson

Dr. Janet Gullickson, most recently president of Front Range Community College in Colorado, has served as president, provost, vice president, and faculty member in comprehensive community colleges in Colorado and Minnesota during the last 20 years. She was also president and managing partner of a consulting business, The Odyssey Group, for more than five years. She received her Doctorate of Education in 1997 from the University of Minnesota in Higher Education Policy and Administration.

Dr. Randall Miller

Dr. Randall Miller is executive vice chancellor of Wayne County Community College District, Michigan and concurrently serves as president of the District's Western Campus. He began his tenure at WCCCD as president of the Downriver Campus in 2001. Prior to WCCCD, Dr. Miller was the vice president for College Relations for Henry Ford Community College. He holds a Doctorate in Higher Education Administration from the University of Southern California. He is also a graduate of the Harvard University Graduate School of Education, where he completed a year of advanced study in administration, planning, and social policy.

Dr. David Sam

Dr. David Sam is president of North Harris College in Houston, Texas, a position he has held since 2000. Prior to North Harris College, Dr. Sam was dean of the Community and Technical College at the University of Akron, Ohio, as well as a professor of Social Science and Business Management. He previously served as vice president for Faculty and Instruction at Harrisburg Area Community College in Pennsylvania. Dr. Sam holds a Doctor of Philosophy in International Economic and Political Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Akron Law School.

Dr. Beverly Simone

Dr. Beverly Simone is the director of Academic and Quality Services with the Higher Colleges of Technology, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, a position she has held since 2004. She previously served as the president and CEO of Madison Area Technical College, Wisconsin, for 14 years and as president and CEO of Western Wisconsin Technical College, LaCrosse, Wisconsin, for two years. She holds a doctoral degree in Adult Education/Higher Education Administration from Indiana University.
