Open to the public, the Career Services Center provides assistance
for anyone interested in exploring a career. Through advising,
testing, workshops, and resource materials, students and others
can develop a career plan. Students can also receive assistance
with resume and cover letter writing
and interviewing skills. If you already know the field you're
leaning toward, you'll find information in the Center to help
you fine-tune your options.
The Center is located on the Napier Avenue Campus,
in room C-204. Open Monday - Friday from 8am - 5pm, and evenings
by appointment.

Job Boards
The Career Services Center posts new jobs weekly on job boards
located on:
- Napier Avenue Campus
- across from bookstore
- B-Wing, first floor near elevators
- B-Wing, third floor near elevators
- Bertrand Crossing Campus
- M-TEC at Lake Michigan College
- South Haven Campus
- five Employment and Resource Centers in the tri-county area
Those who are interested can check out the location, position,
and qualifications for posted positions can call or come to the
Center for information on whom to contact and how the employer
wants to be contacted.
Notebooks with job information are also in the Center.
Work Study
If you have completed your FAFSA, are taking at least 6 credit
hours in Fall and/or Winter semester and are in good Academic
Standing, go to Financial Aid and fill out an application for
Work Study.
Student Employment
Part-time, on-campus employment opportunities are available for
students through the Work Study Program. The amount of money that
can be earned is based on the availability of funds and/or the
student's financial need. Students interested in on-campus employment
should contact the Work Study assistant in the Richard J. Pappas
Student Services Center or call (269) 927-8100 ext. 6284.
Are you a student who needs Co-op or an Internship to complete
your program, or an employer who is interested in hiring a Co-op/Internship
student? We have a Co-op/Internship Handbook
which will give you the information you need.
In addition to the above services, the Career Services Center
has at your disposal:
- Access to Bridges - Bridges is an on-line career guidance
and information system that is updated daily. By accessing Bridges
in the Career Center an individual can find information on employment
trends, education links, career information and take an interest,
skills and values assessment.
- Access to DISCOVER - DISCOVER is a computer-based career
guidance and information system purchased from American College
Testing. By accessing the DISCOVER program in the Career Center
individuals can make important career and education decisions
whether they are planning for college or immediate employment.
- Access to MOIS - http://www.michigan.gov/careers
- The Michigan Occupational Information System offers more than
400 complete MOISscripts, each providing comprehensive information
on an occupation including education requirements, employment
outlook, duties, wages, and links to other relevant resources.
