How to Enroll for Classes
Please read over our General
Admissions Policy before enrolling for classes.
Whether you are new to Lake Michigan College
or a returning student, follow the appropriate checklist below
to assist you in enrolling for the classes of your choice.
New Students
- Give us a call, send
us an email, or stop by one of our campuses to talk with
one of our representatives. They will give you all of the information
you need to get started.

Submit your student application online or fill out and return
the LMC application.
- Talk with a financial aid generalist
to see what scholarships, aid, and student employment opportunities
may be available to you.
- Take the LMC assessment
if needed
- Visit one of our advisors. They will help you select a program
of study and develop your academic semester
classes.*
- Register for classes in the Richard J. Pappas Student Services
Center on the Napier Avenue Campus, in room 101 on the Bertrand
Crossing Campus, or in the Student Services area on South Haven
Campus.
- Pay your tuition and fees.
- Purchase your books and supplies at the Barnes
& Noble Bookstore on campus or on-line.
- Attend classes!
Returning Students

If you have been away from LMC for several years, check the
assessment and placement information.
If needed, take the LMC assessment.

Review your academic plan.

Visit with your academic advisor if:
- You have been away for one or more semesters
- You plan on transferring to a 4-year institution
- You are planning to enroll in 12 or more credits
- The current semester will be your last semester at LMC
- You have questions about which courses to take

Select your semester courses. Click

Talk with our Financial Aid generalist
to make sure your financial aid is in place.

Register for classes at any of our campus locations, or use
WaveLink
to register online.

Pay your tuition and fees.

Purchase your books and supplies at the Barnes
& Noble Bookstore on campus or on-line.

Attend classes!
International Students
Read over the procedure
that International Students should follow when applying to Lake
Michigan College
*If you are
a student coming to college for the first time and taking more than
six (6) credit hours at Lake Michigan College, you will be expected
to attend the Freshman Seminar course (CLS 100) This course is designed
to increase student success in college by assisting you in the development
of skills necessary to reach your educational objectives. Topics
include college expectations, time management, communication skills
and learning styles, the use of technology for learning, career/major
decision-making, and knowledge of the various campus resources and
services.
Students who score at or above approved levels on the college
placement tests may request a waiver from Freshman Seminar classes
through a counselor/advisor.
