  • Advising - in employability and living skills, career assessment, goal setting and academic advising.
  • Referrals - to campus and community-offered services.

Other Available Programs

Single Parent/Displaced Homemaker Program
It's a vicious circle when you're a single parent or homemaker suddenly forced to work outside the home. You need a job to support your family. You need skills to get a job. You need money to get the skills training. You need a job to get the money. Now you can break the cycle and get the vocational training you need to get a job.

Eligible Categories

  • Single Parent - You qualify if you are an individual who is unmarried or legally separated and have a minor child or children to whom you have either sole or joint custody.
  • Displaced Homemaker - You qualify if you're a homemaker who must prepare for a job because of a recent divorce, separation, death or disability of a family member.
  • Single Pregnant Woman - Documentation is required.

All students must apply for the Pell Grand and/or Financial Assistance. They must also meet economic guidelines and be enrolled in a Career & Technical Education program.

Those students whose income disqualifies them for other need-based financial assistance but who meet the income guidelines formulated and coordinated with the Financial Aid Office and the Director/Coordinator may be considered. Please call (269) 927-8100 ext. 5191.

For some helpful information visit the Women Work! Website.

Non-Traditional Program
Consider a non-traditional career. Enter a Career & Technical Education program not traditionally chosen by those of your gender. Funds may be available to non-traditional students for tuition, books, supplies and required equipment/tools.

Determination for qualifications are based on Michigan Department of Education State Board approved Career & Technical Education programs in which men or women are less than 25% of the program enrollment in the chosen field.

Tutoring Center
Experiencing difficulty in class? Returning or readjusting to college? Need assistance to get through a tough exam? Tutoring is available at no cost to you if you are a currently enrolled LMC student. Your tutor will be a student who has successfully completed class. Tutors are available in most subject areas.

  • Tutoring - Hours are posted at the Learning Assistance Center, located in room B-211, near the Writing Lab in the C-wing.
