Throughout the year, scholarss take educational trips to colleges and universities, museums, businesses, musicals and other theater productions, art galleries, etc. Cultural and social enrichment activities are an important component of the Upward Bound experience and are NOT optional. Each year, scholars are required to participate in cultural and social activities. See the monthly calendar for scheduled events.

Crafts Workshop: March 6, 2003 6 - 8 p.m.
For parents/guardians and participants (held in UB Resource Room; RSVP required; more details coming)

Detroit Field Trip: March 15, 2003
Bus will leave LMC at 6:15 a.m. and return to LMC at 5:30 p.m. We will be touring the African-American History Museum and the Motown Music Museum. (more details coming)

College Survival Workshop: March 19, 2003 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Junior and Senior participants are required to attend. Workshop will cover a variety of topics about surviving college life. (more details coming)

College Tour in Washington D.C.: March 30 through April 3, 2003 (more details coming)

Teambuilding Workshop: April 29, 2003 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
All underclassmen (9th and 10th grade) participants are required to attend.

Senior Wrap-up: May 19, 2003 6 - 8 p.m.
All seniors are required to attend. (more details coming)

USBAI Student/Parent Orientation: May 21, 2003
6 - 7 p.m.
All participants, excluding graduating seniors, are required to attend with their parents/guardians. (more details coming)

Academic Awards/Senior Recognition Reception: May 28, 2003 6 - 8 p.m.
Participants and their parents/guardians attend an end of the year recognition of academic achievement. Seniors are also recognized. RSVP is required to attend.

UBSAI Kick-Off Picnic: June 11, 2003 1 - 5 p.m. at Corronde Park
