Upward Bound
Disciplinary Policy
In order to provide uniformity in the administering
of disciplinary action, the following action will be taken for
infractions of the General
Rules and Regulations cited in the Upward Bound Parent-Scholar
Contract and Student
Handbook.
1. Scholar will meet with the Upward Bound Director,
Pre-College Coordinator/Advisor,
or Academic Programs
Coordinator regarding the infraction and will be issued a
verbal warning. A written report of the infraction and action
will be mailed to the parent/guardian and will be included in
the scholars file.
2. A second violation of the infraction will result
in placing the scholar on probation, following a second meeting
with the scholar regarding the infraction. A letter will be mailed
to the scholar. A copy of the letter will also be mailed to the
parent/guardian and placed in the scholars file.
3. A third infraction will result in a meeting
with the scholar, parent, Director,

member if applicable. A third infraction will/may result in termination
from the Program. Except for the following infractions, which
will result in immediate termination, no scholar will be terminated
without a meeting with the scholar and parent/guardian.
