Absences
• You are expected to attend and to participate in all Program events and activities, including Saturday College Prep Sessions.

• You are urged to schedule medical/dental appointments around Program activities to avoid conflicts with tutoring and Saturday College Prep Sessions.

• If you must be absent from a session, please contact the Upward Bound office within twenty-four (24) hours of the absence or the absence will be considered unexcused, unless the absence is due to an emergency situation.

• A note, with a signature of a parent/guardian, giving the reason for your absence must be furnished upon your return to the next session. Without a note and signature, the absence will be unexcused.

• Unexcused or excessive absences may result in your exclusion from Program activities or further participation in Upward Bound.

• All excused absences from tutoring sessions are probationary pending the scholar making up the missed time during the same week of the absence. If the scholar does not make up the absence, the probationary excused absence will become an unexcused absence.

Tardiness
• You are considered tardy if you arrive after the start of Saturday College Prep Sessions.

• Being tardy three times counts as one absence.

• Busses always leave on time for field trips.

• Tutoring: You are expected to make good use of tutoring hours. Check in immediately when you arrive to the Lake Michigan College campus.

• Saturday College Prep Sessions: Sign in upon entering the room. If you are tardy, you are responsible for making sure the person taking attendance sees you and notes your presence. Try to arrive 10 minutes prior to start time.

• Activities: You are responsible for checking in with someone and staying with your assigned staff person or group.

Checking out before leaving
• Tutoring: You must check out with your tutor before leaving a session for any reason.

• Saturday College Prep Sessions: During class or snack time, you must check with an Upward Bound staff member before leaving. Unless you have a note from your parent/guardian, you must not leave campus.

• Trips: You may not leave the Upward Bound group during activities, and you must check out with the Director or other staff member before going home.

Library
• Please follow library rules at all times; work quietly while using the library.

• You are responsible for fees charged for late return of materials and/or replacement costs for lost or damaged materials borrowed from the library.

Materials
• You are responsible for bringing the following items to Program activities:
