UPWARD BOUND SERVICES:
Saturday College Prep Sessions
Saturday College Prep Sessions are conducted during the school
year (October through May). Scholars meet at Lake
Michigan College on selected Saturdays for academic instruction,
tutoring, motivational workshops, and development of life skills,
study skills, and computer skills.
Scholars attend classes and participate in assessment, tutoring,
and advising sessions. Scholars may receive PSAT
and ACT preparation and may attend a financial
aid workshop. Scholars are exposed to a college environment,
and guest speakers provide an orientation to a variety of career
options and the educational requirements that accompany them.
Saturday sessions are 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

November 17, 2007 (Cultural Activity held later that evening)
December 1, 2007 (Some scholars will participate in a community
service project)
December 15, 2007 (Social Activity held later that evening)

April 12, 2008
April 26, 2008 (Selected scholars will attend a cultural activity
immediately following session)
May 10, 2008 (Social activity will take place during second half
of session)
