Hand Printing with Natural and Found Objects Workshop

6:00 PM - 8:00 PM 12th Feb 2019

United States

For this printmaking class, you will use plants, fruits, vegetables, feathers, and other found objects to create unique imagery utilizing (water-based) ink and paint. During this class, there will be an explanation of materials, demonstration of this process, discussion of color / composition, and ample time to make prints. No experience is necessary and all materials will be provided.
Optional but encouraged supplies to bring (we will have some of these available but more is always best):

* apron
* disposable nitrile/rubber gloves
* tweezers
* scissors
* old hand towel/rag
* additional plants (fresh and relatively flat are best)

You will have 2 hours to make as many prints as you desire. We figure you'll be able to complete about 10 prints (or more) during this time frame. Of course, you'll also have the know how to continue making prints on your own.

The Fab Lab at Lake Michigan College is an open access digital fabrication studio and collaborative workshop. We provide access to information, tools, software and space for anyone who has an interest to learn and create. The Fab Lab provides open access to design software, laser cutters, 3D printers, vinyl cutters, sewing machines, mini-lathes, woodshop, CNC router (ShopBot) and hand tools.
