LMC Performing Arts Department to Hold Auditions for Spring Awakening

Performing Arts department to hold auditions Dec. 12-14 from 5-7 p.m. in The Hanson Theatre in The Mendel Center.

BENTON TOWNSHIP, MI – The Lake Michigan College Performing Arts department will hold auditions for its production of “Spring Awakening,” a musical with book and lyrics by Steven Sater, music by Duncan Sheik, based on the play by Frank Wedekind, and directed by Paul Mow.

Auditions are open to the public and will be held December 12-14 from 5-7 p.m. in The Hanson Theatre in The Mendel Center at Lake Michigan College, located at 2755 E. Napier Avenue, Benton Harbor.

Spring Awakening offers a variety of roles, including male and female lead and supporting roles for those between the ages of 14 and 18, and cast and ensemble roles for those 18 to 64 years old. Those who are interested in auditioning should prepare a 32-bar piece of contemporary musical theatre music to sing with or without an accompanist. An accompanist will be provided. Those auditioning will also be asked to cold read sides from the show. Interested participants should contact Director Paul Mow at pmtenor@gmail.com with questions. Performance dates in The Hanson Theatre are March 24-25 at 8 p.m. and March 26 at 3 p.m.
