Hospitality and Culinary Management

If you have a passion for food and entertainment, or just like the idea of using your leadership skills to help people have a good time, you might like working in Southwest Michigan’s booming hospitality industry. Whether you’d feel most at home in a loud casino, a relaxing spa, or a bustling restaurant, there is a place for you in the region’s more than 1,500 food, tourism, and gaming businesses.

Regardless of the degree or certificate you choose to pursue, you’ll learn about all aspects of the business including marketing, human resources, and financial analysis. This means you’ll be ready to jump in and do many different jobs in hotels, restaurants, and casinos after graduation.

We know a lot of students need to earn money while earning a certificate or a degree. That’s why we’ve designed our hospitality and culinary programs with flexible class schedules and online options. We keep class sizes small to ensure our caring, helpful instructors are available to you when you need them.

If you decide you want to continue your education and pursue a bachelor’s degree, the process is easy because we have transfer agreements with a long list of four year schools. That means all of your credits will easily transfer to: Kendall, Roosevelt, Grand Valley, Ferris, Eastern, Northern Illinois, and Purdue North Central. If you decide to transfer to a different school, that’s okay too. Our advisors can answer any questions you have about the process.

The hospitality industry is only as successful as the people who greet guests, prepare meals, and sell tickets in addition to hundreds of other jobs. That’s why there are three scholarships available exclusively to LMC students studying hospitality, culinary, or casino management. Learn more by visiting the general industry scholarship list, or contact admissions at or (269) 927-6908.
